Traffic is Picking Up in the Pass
For the first time this year, I spent the day in the Cajon Pass shooting trains -- mostly at Cajon Station, Alray and MP 58/58X. 15 trains on all 3 BNSF tracks in 6 hours. It's almost back up to pre-recession traffic. For 30 years I've treated Cajon Pass traffic deltas as a leading economic indicator and have generally been right in doing so. This is very encouraging.
